The Magic of The Cloud, Sukhia (West Bengal)

Darjeeling Himalayan Range is known for its cloud game. In my previous blogs, I have mentioned many stories about the cloud games. But, at Sukhia, things are very different, this is more than a game but magic happening every hour. A day can start with bright sunlight, but at noon you may not see things just five feet away from you.

When I was going to Jore Pokhari through the alpine forest, I was so mesmerized by the beauty of that deep green forest with the shadows of clouds. At 2 PM, it was giving me a feeling of 6 PM. It was indeed a dense forest, but the clouds made it mysterious. The feeling of the walk was different, and I never experienced such ambiance before.

The cloud covered Jore pokhari was another description of beauty. Those shadows of alpine trees on the crystal clear cloud covered lake water was like a painter putted some water colours on the canvas. A perfect creation of nature meets some modern living ideas is all about Jore Pokhari.

Clean air, clean water and some clouds just perfect elements to make Sukhia a magical place. You do not even need to touch those clouds, they will come and kiss your cheek to make you blush. On a dry day, it may give you some surprising rain drops, but will never make you wait.

Sukhia has many avatars and in this spring I got her as a magician. Hope to see her in the different avatar in the future, specially something in tropical as Sukhia changes in every season. And each season brings pleasure to our eyes.
