My Love For Chikankari

Hello guys, this is summer here  though the weather is still kind to me. During the summer season, I always prefer to wear clothes that are light and breathable plus look classic. I find cotton, georgette, or chiffon kurtas with hand embroidered Chikankari are the perfect selection for the same. In my country, India, there are amazing artisans all over, and among them are the artists from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, who are experts in Chikankari.

This fine art was often attributed to Empress Nur Jahan in the 17th century. Traditionally, it was white on white; later on, slowly coloured threads had been used, and now we are seeing in different variations. Designs are inspired by Mughal arts, featuring flora patterns, paisleys, creepers and net-like structures.

Here, some of those pieces I have shared for you, hope you will like them.
