Teesta Meets Rangeet

Life is always not easy and that is the reason we are always looking for an escape. Triveni is a  place where you can experience an amazing day, and I think it is a perfect escape from the troubles of daily life. This is a place where you can inhale the fresh air. This is the place where river Teesta meets the Great Rangeet.

Since 4 years, I am travelling the entire Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts for different reasons. During these years I have seen and learned a lot from the locals and the nature. The beauty of this area always attracts me. So, I don’t really say “no” when it comes to travel to any place of these districts of West Bengal.

This time I went to Triveni for camping for a night with a large group. The night of camping was unique, under the moonlight, in front of a bonfire. Local folk songs and the sound of the flow of river Teesta created a mysterious ambiance at the camp area.

Triveni is the confluence of river Teesta and Rangeet. The place comes under the Kalimpong district of northern West Bengal. Surrounded by mountains, the place is a beautiful nest of adventurous activities like trekking and river rafting.

The colours of the two rivers are easily distinguishable by human eyes. The Great Rangeet has crystal clear green water, and the Teesta is turquoise green. Their flows are clam but rhythmic. It is like dancing on the Himalayan rocks making happy noises. They are on a divine’s happy, unstoppable journey.

If you ask me, what is the best time of a day to enjoy the beauty of this place? My answer is early morning. This is the time when you will be able to feel the uniqueness of the nature. This time will also give you the opportunity to work and heal yourself.
