If you are in Bengaluru, then do not miss the granite fort. Yes, I am talking about Bangalore Fort.

Bangalore Fort is holding the historic pride of Bengaluru. This was actually a mud fort, built by Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bengaluru in 1537. Later on, Hyder Ali replaced mud with granite stones in 1761.

Bangalore Fort is in K.R. Road, New Tharagupet, Bengaluru. This is very close to Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace.

It opens at 8:30am in the morning and closes by 5:30 pm everyday.

Before visiting Bangalore Fort, I knew that it is INR 15/- per Indian citizen, but, once I reached I got to know that it is actually free entry for all. Not only that, there are no extra charges for cameras too.

This is to inform you that, the fort comes under ancient monuments and archaeological sites and remains act.So, whoever destroys this building shall be punishable with imprisonment up to two years or with fine up to INR 1 lakh.

Bangalore Fort is an oval shaped historic monument. When I entered the fort, it was like telling its own story. That big dramatic iron gate, stone walls, that architecture, all together it was like a history based movie in real life.

Its every wall was telling story and those designs on its walls were adding details in it.
