A Village Day
Walking through the green lane with beautiful flowers is always something imaginary. Some villages in West Bengal are just like that.

This evergreen Bhalukgara village is a key point for vegetable cultivation in northern West Bengal. People of Bhalukgara love to stay simple and their main earning comes from vegetable cultivation. This place has the proper picture of an Indian modern village. Now you might be thinking that why am I calling it as an Indian modern village? The answer you will get while driving through those beautiful village roads with the 4G network on your mobile phone.

Most of the time people of Bhalukgara send their fruits of hard work to the nearby cities like Siliguri and Jalpaiguri. Sometimes, they also send vegetables to some places in Nepal. As I mentioned before the vegetable cultivation is their main but not only source of income. Nowadays, some people have started their own business and some of them are going to cities for work.

The speciality of this place is its beautiful green fields and bright sunflowers, which can give rest to your eyes. Every evening, you will find people are returning from the field ( a genuine village landscape) and greet you with their simple smile.

I especially like the yellow flowers in the breeze. And the greenery is really green! I live in the desert land of California, where we tend to get years of drought. This year is a good one, though. Lots of lush flowers for a change!

Vegetable farming is not something I think of when I think of India. Looks like a lovely place.

If you visit Indian farms, I can bet it will be a different experience.

I was immediately draw to the picture of the sunflowers as high as the woman walking by. Certainly a contrast to fields of vegetables. Such a contrast in this modern city with 4G service!
