Things to do and see in Phuentsholing
We all know that going back to childhood is impossible. That’s the reason, I have decided to visit those places I visited either in my childhood or in my teenage. Well, Phuentsholing is one of them.
Phuentsholing is the gateway of Bhutan as it is the entrance of the country. This beautiful town is full of colours and Tibetan architectures.
It is actually a beautiful gate and the main entrance of Bhutan. With the combination of Tibetan arts and architecture, it is the most photographed place of Phuentsholing. The gate has been manned by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Bhutan police to ensure the security of both the countries.
Amo Chhu Crocodile Park:
This place is actually crocodile breeding centre and a very good place for kids. This park has few medium size ponds and beside those ponds you can see crocodiles, gharials, mugger crocodiles, some migratory birds, fishes and tortoise.
If you are interested to know about those reptiles and their food habits, the officials will tell you about that not only that, they will also give you a brief idea on their conservation project.
Zangto Pelri Park:
This is actually a green land of Phuentsholing. Once you enter the park will get to see people from all walks of life. There is a small large ball fountain at the center of the park and many places to take rest. You can easily read a book holding a cup of coffee in your hand. This park is not that far from Bhutan gate, it is just few walks.
This is indeed a peaceful place with scenic view. It has a lush green complex and from that you can enjoy the panoramic view of Phuentsholing city and the plain of West Bengal. There are 8 Tibetan Buddhist Stupas just in front of the prayer hall. According to legends, couples with infertility issues will be blessed with a child if they pay a visit to this monastery.
